The regular season has concluded in Division III women’s basketball, and the American Rivers Conference has released their all-conference teams for the season. Central and Simpson each saw a contingent of players make the list.
Central had two players make the second team. Senior Kendall Brown made the list for the second straight season, while freshman Kelsea Hurley made it in her inaugural season.
Simpson had three players make the second team. Seniors Claire Johnson and Cassie Chubb made the list for the second straight year, while junior Cameron Kincaid made the last after earning honorable mention honors last year.
The Storm had two honorable mention selections. Former first-teamer Jenna Taylor made the list after an injury-plagued junior campaign. Sophomore Kia Rassmussen also made the list for the first time in her career.
Wartburg’s Emma Gerdes was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player, while Laura Hamilton of Luther was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Both of those athletes earned those respective honors for the second straight season. Wartburg head coach Bob Amsberry was named the league’s Coach of the Year after guiding the Knights to their fourth consecutive regular season and conference tournament titles.
