Two of the biggest priorities for the Pella Police Department under the watch of Chief Robert Bokinsky was improvement of community relations and updating of technology.

Bokinsky says with the hire of a school resource officer and the growth of programs such as the Career Academy of Pella, the department has made an effort to connect with youth and be a positive presence in their lives.

The recent addition of body camera technology and ongoing discussions to enhance radio technology continue to be ways the Pella Police Department have worked to stay at the cutting edge of policing, according to Bokinsky.
