The Pleasantville boys basketball team had a .500 season, but they were able to build some talent to prepare for future seasons. The Trojans had four players average in double digit scoring led by senior Teron Mount with 13.6 points per game. Head Coach Joel Allman says they accomplished the goal of being a balanced team, and saw improvement among the most talented players.
“We were very balanced this year as far as scoring, which we always like to be. Teron Mount was our leading points per game guy, but Mitch Harken and Mason Scheve were able to have good seasons efficiency-wise, they had good field goal percentages this year. So we were really happy with those two as far as stepping up. Teron was a returning all-conference player from last year, and proved that he’s a very hard person to stop on a basketball floor. Tagen scored in double figures this year, he didn’t shoot as well as he would have liked. But there were quite a few games where we needed him to step up, and he was able to do that.”
Senior Mitch Harken was next in line with 12.3 points per game. Sophomore Mason Scheve had a breakout season with 11.8 points per game, while Tagen Douma rounded out those in double figures with 10.1 points per game. Pleasantville finished 11-11 overall and 8-8 in the West Central Conference.
