The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Program was not blessed with a lot of height this season. In fact, the Sabers may have been one of the shortest teams in the area with no girl over 5 feet 7 inches. Coach Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports his two seniors, Kaya DesPlanque and Athena Bruns, played post this season. Verwers says for the first time playing the position he was pleased with how it went.

Verwers:
“They have never played post before. You aske ] them to do something they never did until their senior season, but they did it, and a decent job for not doing any post drills until their senior year, and it was a lot to ask, but they did it.”

DesPlanque ended up with 94 rebounds on the season while Bruns collected 62 for the 5-18 Sabers. Verwers hopes to have a little more size next season.
