The PCM boys basketball team has concluded the season, finishing 12-11 overall. The Mustangs opened the 2020 portion of the schedule winning seven of eight games, but followed that with a five-game losing streak. Head Coach Fred Lorensen says his team was able to hang close with conference foes in that stretch, but was unable to hold onto their spot in the league standings.

“We thought we were really competitive with our conference foes. After the Montezuma game, we were 7-3 in the conference. We had four conference games left, and if you win all four of those, the worst you would get is a tie for first place. Obviously it didn’t turn out that way, but we put ourselves in good position, which we always attempt to do. And I still think it was a total good effort by our kids for the season.”

The Mustangs finished 7-7 in the Heart of Iowa Conference. PCM says goodbye to five seniors.
