Many individual and team records were set during the Knoxville Girls Basketball season. Among the individual records were Katie Keitges establishing a new all-time scoring mark with 1,752 career points. Team records also were set including the highest season scoring average as the Panthers shattered the old record set last season by six points. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KRLS Sports while the ultimate goal of getting to the state tournament did not happen, he is very happy with how the season went.
Uitermarkt:
“We ended the season setting a school record by scoring average at 63 points per game that beat the old record by six points. so a lot of great individual records and team stuff and we’re really proud of our girls for what they accomplished.”
The Panthers finished with 20 wins, a third straight conference title, and several team records set.
