The PCM boys basketball team saw a slight decrease in the win total in 2019-2020, but they saw development among their top talent. Derek Brown and Jason Stafford were tasked with stepping into larger roles after the departure of talented players in the previous class, and they both delivered. Those two seniors each more than doubled their scoring totals from the previous year, and Head Coach Fred Lorensen commended their performances.
“Those two seniors were definitely the leaders this year, they did a great job for us. Those two averaged six-seven points per game, and to make the jump they made was a really good progression for just one season. Like I said, their roles were different, we needed them to do more and they did a great job of doing that for us.”
Stafford and Brown are two of five seniors on this year’s team. The Mustangs finished 12-11 and went 1-1 in the postseason.
