The Pleasantville boys basketball team performed what they would consider to be below the expectations that they had for the season. The Trojans ended up facing multiple injuries and illnesses among their top talent, and managed their way to an 11-11 finish. Head Coach Joel Allman says his team has good players returning, and expects improvement when they return next season.
“Next year when they come into the season, they should be able to say they are better basketball players, better athletes than they were this year. That’s the main thing. Can you look yourself in the mirror and say, ‘Am I better than I was last year?’” So that’s just going to take them getting in the weight room, getting faster, getting stronger. And also getting in the gym and getting not only shots up, but playing a little bit as well. We need our guys to be multi-sport athletes. That’s going to help them grow as competitors and athletes. So I hope that they are out competing in different sports.”
The Trojans say goodbye to five seniors, but should have good returning talent in Mason Scheve, Caylor Clark, and Colby Sandholt, among others that will look to take Pleasantville basketball to the next level in 2020-2021.
