Those planning to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day this weekend with alcohol are reminded to do so responsibly.

Interim Pella Police Chief Paul Haase says anyone planning to drink should have a plan to get home safely.

“We encourage everyone to plan ahead if they’re going out to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day festivities,” he says. “Take a cab, use alternate transportation, or designate a driver.”

He says additional officers will be on the roadway to crack down on drunk drivers, as well as those who are speeding, not wearing their seatbelt, or driving while distracted.
