The Central women’s tennis team was in action Friday, playing host to Northwestern College. The Dutch were able to grind out a close 5-4 victory in a meet that came down to the final match.
After dropping two of the three doubles matches, Central needed to win four of the six singles matches. Northwestern won the top two flights, but it was three local alumni that helped the Dutch secure the victory. Pella alumna Bronwyn Metcalf and Knoxville alumni Sami Thompson and Alex Griggs picked up singles victories. Alyssa Lewton closed things out with her singles win. Central improves to 9-7 on the season.
