Some community facilities are being closed as a precautionary measure stemming from COVID-19. The Knoxville Recreation Center and the Knoxville Public Library will be closed starting at noon today through Monday, April 13th. According to the Recreation Center, memberships will be extended and refunds will be given for March Swim Lessons. More information regarding Youth Soccer deadline extension and the timeframe for the Soccer season will be released at a later date. At the library, due dates will be extended and no overdue fines will accrue for items checked out. All free online resources are available 24/7 at the library’s website: www.knoxville.lib.ia.us. These include Freegal (downloadable music), Kanopy (movie streaming), Brainfuse (homework and school resources), and Bridges (ebooks and audiobooks). For more information, call the library at 641-828-0585, call 211 or visit the CDC www.cdc.gov or IDPH https://idph.gov. websites.
Knoxville Senior Center Congregate Meal Site will also be closing starting tomorrow and lasting for a two-week period. The Knoxville Senior Center’s Board of Directors will revisit this decision in 10 days to determine if a lengthier closure is needed. Meals will be provided for home delivery and pick up at the Center.
