pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville girls basketball team had somewhat of an underwhelming season, facing several injuries and a tough conference slate. Only two seniors graduate from this year’s team, leaving room for a lot of growth. Head Coach Jeff Cook says that his two seniors, Alyssa McConnell and Jodie Hutchings, played vastly different roles this season.

“Alyssa didn’t play very much, hadn’t been out for several years, had a great attitude, came to practice every day and did what she could. She played in some of the JV games because our numbers were low, and I think really enjoyed herself. Josie was a really solid player for us this year, averaged eight or nine points, four or five rebounds, and just did the things she needed to do, and will be sorely missed. She’s just one of those kids that you can count on to go out and have a steady night for you.”

While those two will graduate, Pleasantville will return their top three scorers and top five rebounders. Two juniors and six sophomores are expected to return to the team. The Trojans finished 8-13 overall and 3-11 in the West Central Conference.
