The City of Pella continues to monitor and develop appropriate plans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health and wellness of our community and team members is a top priority. In addition, it is our utmost priority to maintain public safety and other essential services. Accordingly, as developments continue to unfold, appropriate actions and steps will be implemented. We ask for your patience and understanding during this time. In addition, we ask that you follow safety guidelines as communicated by the Marion County Public Health Department, Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

If you are over the age of 60 or have an underlying condition such as a heart, liver, or lung disease; diabetes; or an auto-immune disease; you should be vigilant in protecting your health and the health of others around you. We strongly discourage those within vulnerable categories from visiting City offices. Instead, please consider calling or emailing to conduct your business electronically or over the phone. City Hall
City Hall will remain open to the public at this time; however, instead of paying your utility bill in-person, you are encouraged to use any of the following options:
• Automated phone system at 844.546.8162
• Pay online at https://ipn2.paymentus.com/cp/plla
• Use the drop boxes located at City Hall, in the alley behind the library, and at Hy-Vee

Public Meetings
• The March 17th City Council meeting will be conducted via conference call. The meeting will remain open to the public within the Council Chambers at the Public Safety Complex at 614 Main Street; however, all audio and screensharing of the presentation will be available online at https://join.me/PellaCityCouncil or by dialing 720.650.5050 to encourage social
distancing. Those attending via conference call will have the ability to provide verbal comments during the dedicated public forms and public hearings as indicated on the agenda.
• The March 16th Board of Adjustment meeting has been canceled.
• The March 20th Community Services Board meeting has been canceled.
• The March 23rd Planning and Zoning meeting has been canceled.

Community Services
The following Community Services facilities will be closed effective Wednesday, March 18. The expected date of reopening is Monday, April 13:
• Art Center
• Aquatic Center
• Community Center
• Memorial Building
• Sports Park
• Soccer Complex
All programs have been canceled. Refunds or credits will be offered to those who have already paid for programming or rentals. In addition, aquatic season passes will be extended for the length of the facility closure.

Public Library
The library will be closed, and all programs will be canceled, effective Wednesday, March 18. The expected date of reopening is Monday, April 13. Due dates for items currently checked out have been extended to April 13.

Police Department
While we must ensure we are keeping our community safe, the safety of our team members and first responders is a top priority as well. We encourage you to first call the Pella Police Department
regarding inquiries, rather than stopping in at the station. In addition, when contacting the Police Department, especially for medical call needs, the communications operator will ask several
questions and make inquiries to better prepare emergency responders. Finally, requests to conduct fingerprinting of the general public have been suspended.
