The Indianola School Board approved to close all Indianola schools and facilities until April 13th at their meeting Monday evening, based on Governor Kim Reynolds recommendation. The district postpones all activities and clubs, and cancels all gatherings. Along with closing the schools, the board committed to keeping childcare open to serve all children currently enrolled in the program, and committed to feeding students who rely on school meals over the break, though no plan is currently set in place. The Iowa Legislature, and Governor Kim Reynolds said she supports, also waived the required education hours law for this year, so students will not have to make up the lost time past the regularly scheduled school year.
