The recent emergency declaration made by Governor Kim Reynolds closed down restaurants, bars, fitness centers, theaters, and other like facilities until March 31st. Indianola Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Brenda Easter tells KNIA News the Governor made the correct call to prioritize safety, but the declaration will hurt our local businesses so they need our support now more than ever, and she knows the community will do it’s best to step up and help.

“Indianola has the most compassionate and caring people. I think they really recognize our hashtag of Think Indianola First matters, and taking care of one another matters. I’ve already seen some wonderful outreach, whether it is a people-to-people interaction or business-to-business, or consumer-to-business. I’ve seen some wonderful support, and I think it will continue to happen.”

Easter also said many restaurants are offering a take-out option, or you can purchase a gift card to use after this situation comes to a close.
