For the second consecutive season, Pella’s senior point guard was recognized among the best in Iowa. Logan Shetterly earned 2nd team All-State honors from the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association, as announced Tuesday. The senior averaged 19.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game to lead Pella to its 17th-ever state appearance. Pella Head Coach Derek Schulte says the best way to describe Shetterly’s career was continued growth, both off and on the floor as a player and leader.
Shetterly is a two-time All-State basketball honoree, earning 3rd team All-State recognition in his junior season. Logan was also a 2nd team All-State wide receiver this past fall for the Pella football team, and intends to continue his athletic career at Central College this fall with the Dutch football program. The senior joined the 1,000 career point club this season and finished with 1,087 in his career, which is 5th most ever in Pella’s “modern” era, as records are available since 1995.
