The Indianola boys basketball season started off slow, with the Indians losing their first two opening games with many players seeing some of their first varsity minutes. After building a subsequent 9-game winning streak however, the Indians began to look like a seasoned squad, and a relentless defensive team that wore teams down late. Head coach Brett Watson tells KNIA Sports the winning streak just kept building and making his team grow even more.
“Once that started to happen the kids started to believe in themselves some more. And as that confidence grew, so did our play and we started playing much better. It says a lot that we were able to get some big wins at home and that allowed us to believe in ourselves and play better.”
The Indians went 19-4 on the season, progressing to the substate semifinals.
