Kyle Korver meets the 2019-20 Pella High Basketball team

One of the best memories for the Pella boys basketball team didn’t come in competition from the past season.

Head Coach Derek Schulte says perhaps the most impactful day came when the team traveled to watch former Pella standout and NBA All-Star Kyle Korver compete during winter break — and the team meeting one of the greatest three-point shooters in NBA history made the moment all the more special, especially with his off-the-court message.

The NBA season remains in limbo for now, with Korver having played 50 games, averaging 6.7 points per game. Korver has made 2437 three-pointers, fourth most all-time, and his 42.9 percent career three point percentage is 10th best ever in NBA history.
