A good amount of experience returns in the throwing events for the Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad. Grace Overgaard qualified for the state meet last season the shot put placing 24th. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports she would like to see Overgaard not only return to state in the shot put, but get qualified this spring in the discus as well.

Stuart:
“I’ve been giving her a plan and some ideas and some instruction that she can use during this time period. I know some of the girls that have those goal are going to be out their working and getting their goals accomplished.”

Without formal practices, Stuart has had to give her girls workout plans in the interim until the state releases schools and teams to reconvene.
