Pella Regional Health Center has established a Patient Assessment Center (PAC) that will begin seeing patients with respiratory or infectious symptoms beginning on Friday, March 27. The PAC will be located off of Jefferson Street (map above) to the west of the Orthopaedic Center on Pella Regional’s campus.

Patients presenting with cough, upper respiratory symptoms, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, sinus or ear infection, and other respiratory or infectious symptoms will be seen at the new PAC instead of the Walk-In Clinic at Pella Medical Clinic. The Walk-In Clinic at Pella Medical Clinic will still be available to treat patients with minor injuries, urinary tract infections, minor allergic reactions, minor burns, rashes, insect bites, minor cuts and scrapes and sprains as long as they do not have any respiratory or infectious symptoms. Please call Pella Medical Clinic at 641-621-2200 if you have a regularly scheduled appointment and are experiencing respiratory or infectious symptoms.

“To protect our patients, their families, and our staff, we believe the Patient Assessment Center will help provide necessary care during this uncertain time while limiting exposure for staff and other patients who still need medical care in the clinic setting,” said Craig Wittenberg, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Pella Regional.

Before arriving at the PAC, patients will need their insurance card, personal identification card, and cell phone if applicable. o Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
o Sunday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

· Walk-In Clinic at Pella Medical Clinic:
o Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
o Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

· First Fill Pharmacy inside Pella Medical Clinic
o Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
o Closed on weekends

· Retail Pharmacy on the Square:
o Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 7:30 pm
o Saturday 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
o Sunday 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Pella Regional continues to encourage the public to follow prevention measures that are the same for other respiratory illnesses:

-Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
-Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
-Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
-Stay home when you are sick.
-Cover your mouth with your upper arm or tissue when coughing or sneezing.
-Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
