The Indianola City Council approved the FY21 budget at their most recent meeting Wednesday evening, a budget that finishes a phase-in plan to add more staff to the Indianola Fire Department and Indianola Police Department. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the previous council several years ago set this plan in motion after a staffing study concluded the city was short-staffed in both departments, and this year’s budget includes the funds to hire two more police officers and equipment.
