With the Simpson Storm baseball squad only graduating two seniors last season and had only two seniors this season, hopes were high for the Storm baseball squad to gather valuable experience and breathe new life into the program after several down years. Head coach Nathan Roling tells KNIA Sports the hardest thing about the season being canceled is the hard work the guys put in to buy into the program not seeing life.

“I think about 85% of our team this year was returners and upperclassmen, and we were looking forward to this season and taking that next step. The early points of our season being seven games in we saw some of the things that reaffirmed our thoughts with this group. So to see it end prematurely, as everyone around the country is dealing with, but specifically this group it’s sad because of our expectations of taking that next step.”

The Storm started out their season 3-4 before the cancellation.
