Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson sent a letter to families Thursday, updating parents and students regarding the current school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the letter, the district is continuing to follow the recommendation from Governor Reynolds to be closed until April 13th. Pearson says the district’s next priority is educating students. The district has been planning and creating new learning opportunities for students and the district is currently working on a website that will have free resources for students of all ages. Pearson says the drive-thru meal program at the high school continues to be a success, with 478 meals handed out on Thursday alone. Pick up will continue to occur in the student parking lot of the high school from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM throughout the duration of the closure.
