For the second straight week the Knoxville Community School District will once again provide meals to students, as students continue to stay home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News providing meals to students last week was definitely a success as the district provided a total of 4,302 meals to students. Pearson says the district did not anticipate that many meals would be served, but she is grateful for the workers and volunteers behind the scenes that helped to make it happen. The district will continue to provide meals to all students throughout the duration of the closure. The meal sacks contain both breakfast and lunch. Pick up will continue to occur in the student parking lot of the high school from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. Parents and or students are asked to use the west entrance on Willetts Drive only. The pick up lanes will then exit onto Madison Street. Students do not have to be in the vehicle.
