The residents of Knoxville packed city roadways Saturday evening, as people filled their vehicles and Scooped the Loop, all while practicing social distancing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, residents had been socially isolated until a group of residents on Facebook suggested that residents get out of their homes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for some old school Knoxville fun and Scooped the Loop. Thousands of residents took part in the event and brought traffic to a crawl, all while smiling, laughing and jamming out to their favorite tunes on 92.1 KRLS. KNIA/KRLS took requests for the event and played the residents’ favorites as people relived some of their best high school memories and had family fun, all while staying safe.
