For a Pella High School senior, getting to play two sports in college was a priority. John Oltman intends to play basketball and golf at Central College, starting this fall. Oltman is a 2019 All-State and All-Tournament golfer, and was one of the top three point shooters in Class 3A this season. So when it came to having to pick one or the other in his career, he picked both basketball and golf, and to stay close to home wearing the red and white at Central.

John, and current classmate and teammate Logan Shetterly and future teammate Josh Van Gorp from Pella Christian are also becoming Dutch athletes next year.
