The college spring sports season is over, and will likely be remembered for the wrong reasons. That certainly does not diminish the experiences that many student-athletes had during the shortened season. Pleasantville alumnus Zeb Adreon played just 15 games this season for the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team, but was part of some big moments for the program. He says the trip out west, and beating some highly ranked teams were highlights of the season.

“We had a ranked win out in California against Arizona. They were a really good team, we played at the University of San Diego, which is a really cool area of California. Never had been to California or played in California, so that was pretty cool. But probably the best weekend of the year we had was at the Cambria Classic in Minneapolis at the Vikings’ stadium, U.S. Bank, so that was a cool experience. I had never played a game inside in a dome like that before. And to have it be against three top-ranked ACC teams, and to win two out of three that weekend was probably the highlight of our year.”

Iowa picked up wins over #20 North Carolina and #14 Duke in Minneapolis. The Hawkeyes were gearing up for a three-game weekend series at California State-Northridge when the rest of the season was abruptly cancelled. Iowa finished the season 10-5.
