As of Tuesday, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been notified of 73 additional positive cases of Iowans with COVID-19, for a total of 497 positive cases, including seven deaths. There have been no reported cases in Marion County. However since March 13th, there have been 43 tests conducted, all with negative results. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic the City of Pella and the Pella Community School District have closed all playgrounds and play structures to the public. In addition, the City of Pella has closed the tennis courts and pickle ball courts. The city of Pleasantville also announced they are following recommendations by the CDC and the Health Department and have closed all playground equipment, bathrooms and drinking fountains at the city park to help stop the spread. The walking trail remains open but the city recommends individuals continue social distancing. The city of Knoxville parks, trail and playgrounds are currently open to the public, but residents are asked to follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing and personal hygiene and are asked to keep gatherings to less than 10 people and to stay home if not feeling well.
