The Marion County Board of Supervisors and local community leaders including Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn, Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroese, Director of Foundation and Public Relations for Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Kevin Stittsworth, Pella Mayor Don DeWaard, Pella Schools Superintendent Greg Ebeling, and Pella Christian High School Principal Dan Van Kooten held a press conference Wednesday updating the residents of Marion County on the current COVID-19 situation. Each individual gave updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting their department as well as what they were doing to keep people safe. Supervisor Mark Raymie told the residents of Marion County the county will continue with social distancing procedures based on the recommendations from President Donald Trump. According to Raymie the prior 15 Days to Stop the Spread movement was extended by President Trump by an additional 30 days which will push social distancing to the end of the month. Raymie says the social distancing procedures appear to be working and asks all residents to continue doing their part to help stop the spread. 

According to Marion County officials, there is still no confirmed case of COVID-19 in Marion County. Marion County will continue to hold informative press conferences for the foreseeable future with the next scheduled for Friday, April 3rd at 1 p.m. Each press conference will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and 95.3 KNIA and reaired at 6 p.m.
