With four confirmed cases of COVID-19 now present in Warren County, local organizations want to remind residents of some of the latest changes in recommendations. The City of Indianola and Indianola Community School District have recommended residents to stay off of park equipment as the virus can linger for long periods of time, to practice appropriate social distancing if it is necessary to leave your home, and to contact your local public health office if you have symptoms. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the city will continue to provide services as normal, but that shouldn’t take away from the seriousness of the situation.
“I think the thing we really want to emphasize is, this is serious. More cases are coming out, Governor Reynolds is keeping us updated, and the city is taking this seriously, and so should our residents. We need people to understand the seriousness of it and to adhere to the guidelines set out by the CDC.”
Waller also said residents should not pay attention to information that isn’t sourced to public health offices or the CDC.
