Spring sports has been shut down for the time being. Area high school activities directors are in some ways shut down as well because they cannot reschedule events even the ones that they know have or will be called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Knoxville Activities Director Ryan Paulson tells KRLS Sports he has to think about things he has control over, and that message is good for the coaches and athletes as well.
Paulsen:
“In the things you can’t control, you can’t worry about those. Control the things you have control over like Social distancing, practice good hygiene, washing your hands, and drinking plenty of fluids.”
Paulsen adds high school athletes are generally resilient and not a lot gets to them, but he understands the frustration of not having spring sports right now.
