The PCM football team will enter the 2020 season two years removed from a state title. While roughly only half the players from that season will be around, the Mustangs will mostly face the same teams they have for the last two seasons in district play. In fact, all but one school in this year’s district is the same. The exception is Albia, who takes the place of Des Moines Christian. Head Coach Greg Bonnett says that he’s looking forward to facing familiar teams, and it should be an entertaining season.

“With the teams we’re playing, I don’t think it could be any better. There’s going to be some exciting games on there. These teams have been playing us for years now, they kind of know what we’re going to do, we feel a little bit like we know what they’re going to do. And then every once in a while you’ll get a coach that’ll change over and they’ll come in and kind of shake things up. So you don’t always know what you’re going to see offensively and defensively, but you know the kids. If you’ve watched sports around our area, you know that there’s some young kids coming up at these schools that have a lot of talent. So it’s going to be an exciting year to say the least.”

In district play, the Mustangs will have road games at Chariton, Saydel, and Clarke, Osceola, and home games against Centerville and Albia.
