With the outright cancellation of the remainder of the college spring sports season, Pleasantville alumnus Zeb Adreon’s senior season with the Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team was cut short. Adreon was a key player on this year’s team, and started all 15 games; nine in left field and six in right field. He says that his individual success can be credited to the overall success the team was having.
“I had been playing pretty well I thought. It’s a lot easier when the whole team is playing well. As they say, the more wins you get, the more overall success you have. It’s just a shame the season got cut short, as good a season we were having as a team, and how things were going.”
In Adreon’s 15 starts, he batted .333 with 13 RBI’s on the season, and was third on the team in total hits with 17. He had four multi-hit games and a fielding percentage of .963. While Adreon would like to return for his extra year of eligibility the NCAA has granted, he will wait and see if he gets selected in the MLB draft.
