The Indianola City Council set a public hearing date to approve the city codification process at their meeting Monday. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News it’s a process that every city should go through every 5-8 years, and simply allows the city to update codes to match current practices.

“It’s something that just needs to be updated every so often. For example in our current code we have bicycle permits, but that hasn’t been done for a good number of years. So things like that and a good number of things would be stricken and it’s a chance to clean up the code to re-adopt it and have a good fresh starting point.”

The public hearing on the code changes will take place at the next council meeting, scheduled for April 20th.
