Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the Knoxville Public Library continues to provide families with online resources despite the library being closed. In addition to the online resources the library is now giving local families a way to access those resources despite not being able to use the computers at the library like normal. According to Knoxville Public Library Director Roslin Thompson one of the worst things about the closure has been for the people that regularly access the library’s computers. Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News the library has posted their wifi password to help those people who normally access the computers. She says people can drive up to the library, park, and use the wifi to access the internet and the free online resources.

According to Thompson the password for the wifi is posted on the library’s front door. She says the library is also working on ways to help those residents without a library card, obtain a card so they can use the free online resources. Thompson says if anyone is having trouble, has a question or would like help obtaining a card to call the library during regular hours and someone will be there to help.
