The Pella Area Community and Economic Alliance intends to remain a resource for the community as it relates to changing hours and regulations for small businesses. Whether it’s their website or through the Pella Now app, Executive Director Karen Eischen says they are working to keep track of local businesses and their hours of operation, as well as what services they can provide.
Eischen says those who have the means are encouraged to shop local, especially with gift cards and certificates to help with needed cash flow for small business owners to keep their doors open. The Pay It Forward campaign continues, which incentivizes shopping local by providing $10 in Pella bucks for every $100 residents spend at local businesses, with the exception of Walmart, groceries, fuel, and utility or service payments.
