The delay of the start of the high school spring sports season has brought about some logistical concerns. With the recent announcement of May 1st as the potential return date, it gives area athletic programs something to look forward to. If the current meet schedule holds, it will be a heavy schedule right out of the gate for PCM Girls Golf. Head Coach Tony Ford says the opening week will be a good benchmark to see where his team is at.
“That week would be a three-meet week. Two of those meets would be eight teams, so that would give us an early test, as far as the season if it starts after April 30th. And then we would finish with Colfax the next week. It’s kind of nice to know, if the season starts in May, we’ll be tested right away. And then we’ll have a week off, and hopefully be ready to go.”
That opening week, if the schedule hold, would have meets in Knoxville, Boone and Newton.
