The Pella City Council continued business by meeting electronically Tuesday evening. Council authorized a loan disbursement agreement for the city’s intended use of the Iowa State Clean Water State Revolving Loan Program to finance nearly $6 million in DNR-mandated improvements to the Pella Wastewater Treatment Plant. Council also approved a bid for sanitary sewer improvements and repaving of West 3rd Street, which will cost approximately $573,000 with Blommers Construction of Pella. Council also approved the first reading of an ordinance rezoning three districts from community commercial to planned unit developments for Kading Properties, the developer working on a $5.8 million project to bring 92 residential units known as the View Pointe Condominiums near West 16th Street in Pella. Council also set a public hearing for April 21st to accept bids and award a contract for the telecommunications utility facility and to accept public improvements made as part of the South Main Housing Development.
