Despite all county buildings being closed to the public, county services are available to the public through phone and email, and the Warren County Board of Supervisors have indicated it will be up to each department chair to determine how to continue if further restrictions are recommended. Board Chair Aaron DeKock tells KNIA News he wants the public to know regardless of circumstances, the essential county functions will continue to do their best to provide services to residents.
“Ultimately, many of the functions that our county and other counties in Iowa provide will be deemed essential, regardless of a state or federal stay-in-place order. What our sheriff’s department does, dispatch, 911 emergency management, our roads department, these are all essential functions. Without them if we have an accident or emergency or any of those sorts of things, we need access to them and we need people who are working. Our people are doing a phenomenal job in some really uncharted territory.”
