Pleasantville alumnus Zeb Adreon had his senior season of Iowa Hawkeye baseball cut short. With a variety of options on his plate, there are decisions to be made in regards to his future. He is leaning towards returning for his extra year of eligibility that the NCAA has granted, though the MLB Draft remains a possibility. Normally he would play in a summer baseball league, but even that is up in the air.
“The last few years, I’ve been going places to play summer ball. So I don’t know how this is going to affect the starting time of summer ball. Normally it’s been a little bit after school is done. So with the major leagues delayed, I assume they’re probably going to delay until the pros start back up. So it probably depends on when summer ball starts and what happens with being able to back for another year. There’s just a lot of things to be sorted out between now and then.”
Last season, Adreon played for the Fond du Lac Spiders of the Northwoods League, registering a .320 batting average. That league still has not made a decision on its season regarding the current health situation.
