The Twin Cedars Football Program has been rebuilding for the last few seasons. After going ten-and-one and barely missing out on a trip to the semi-finals in 2016…the Sabers have gone a combined 9-20 with last season’s 1-9 record. Coach Cam Parker tells KRLS Sports it could have been better, but unlucky bounces of the ball and injuries to ask an already thin roster did not help matters either.

Parker:
“We had 3 or 4 games toss up games, injury bug hit us at a bad time losing 2 or 3 guys in pretty winnable games last year. I think we can turn things around and see what we can do this year.”

The Sabers will start out with two fairly familiar foes as fellow Bluegrass Conference member Moravia will be the week one contest and WACO is week two. WACO was on the Sabers’ schedule a couple of seasons ago as a non-district and Twin Cedars swept the two games. Montezuma, Lone Tree, Winfield-Mt. Union, Tri-County English Valleys, Meskwaki Settlement, and New London in that order await the Sabers.
