A schedule change has been announced for the Central football team. After NAIA opponent Hastings College requested the season opener with the Dutch be cancelled, the door was opened for an NCAA school to be added to the schedule. Instead of a home game to open the season, the Dutch will travel to Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan. It will be the second all-time meeting between the programs. Central defeated Olivet in Pella in the first round of the 2007 playoffs.

After just three prior trips to the state of Michigan in the last 128 seasons, the Dutch will head straight back to the Wolverine State the following week for a matchup with Kalamazoo. The conference opener in Week 3 is at Wartburg, meaning that Central’s home opener will be Week 4 against Coe, which is also Homecoming.
