Marion County representatives and local community leaders including Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt, Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroese, Director of Foundation and Public Relations for Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Kevin Stittsworth, Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia, Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Hannah Vander Veer, Rick Hurt with South Central Iowa Solid Waste Agency, Pella Mayor Don DeWaard, Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch and Pastor Ethan Brook with Christ’s Church held a press conference Friday and gave updates on how the COVID-19 pandemic was affecting the county as well as what they were doing to keep people safe.

Marion County Supervisor Mark Raymie began the press conference by announcing that Marion County now has a third confirmed case of COVID-19 in the county. According to Raymie the third case is a person between 18-40 years of age making two cases in the 18-40 year-old range range and one in the 61-80 year-old range.

Marion County will continue to hold informative press conferences for the foreseeable future with the next scheduled for Monday, April 13th at 1 p.m. Each press conference will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and 95.3 KNIA and reaired at 6 p.m.
