With Monday’s announcement that high school spring sports would begin on May 1st, the season is being condensed and the end of the season has been pushed back a few weeks. Many events are still scheduled as they were before the pandemic, but another major event has been adjusted. To better align with a typical structure of the season, the West Central Activities Conference has rescheduled its conference track and field meet.
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th, the meet has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 21st. It will still take place at Van Meter High School with a 4:00 p.m. start time. For Pleasantville, it will be the final regular season meet, and the Trojans will have a week off following the conference meet to prepare for districts, which are scheduled for Thursday, May 28th.
The state track and field meet is scheduled for June 4-6 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
