Pella Christian has a lot of long-time opponents back on the schedule this fall for football. The Eagles will have a rematch with Class 3A playoff qualifier and Little Hawkeye Conference rival Oskaloosa to open the season on August 28th, as the Eagles and Indians have clashed to open competition on the gridiron the past two years. Longtime basketball rival Des Moines Christian–a playoff qualifier and district champion in 2019, is the week two foe in Urbandale. The only team Pella Christian has played every season — Class 2A 2018 champions PCM, are on the schedule once again, with a game in Monroe at the newly renovated football stadium coming up on September 11th. While they are no longer in the same district, Woodward-Granger and the Eagles meet on Eagle Lane on the 18th. Competition in 1A District 7 opens on Sept. 25, with the Eagles at Central Decatur, followed by a home game against Interstate 35, road games at Mount Ayr and Pleasantville, and a regular season finale at home on October 23rd against Colfax-Mingo. The Eagles can be heard all season long on 92.1 KRLS, kniakrls.com, and the free KRLS mobile app.
