The current sports shutdown in Iowa has every spring sports team in a state of limbo. Despite the uncertainty of the future, it remains paramount that student-athletes stay in shape and train as if the season will be starting soon. Pleasantville Girls Track and Field head coach Aaron Fichter says that if and when the season does resume, the ones who trained well will stand out.

“This is an opportunity, in a way, to show how motivated they are, and to put that time in still. Because if we do get back, it’ll be here quick, and it will matter, you’ll be able to tell who’s been working and who hasn’t.”

If the season resumes as scheduled, the Trojans would travel to Newton on May 7th for their first meet of the season.
