Distance running on the Melcher-Dallas Girls Track and Field Squad has been dominated by one person. J’Lyn Knutson has had a great career running even though she suffered through a cross county season this fall with injury, still made it to the state meet. Knutson hopes the track and field season will happen this year as she left the Drake Blue Oval with unfinished business last year. She finished 15th in the 3000 at the state meet last season and sixth in the 1500 as a sophomore. If the season is allowed to resume on May first, the Saint runner will likely have a shortened season but a chance to improve her times and finishes in her junior season.
