The Indianola boys tennis team is currently awaiting a potential return to athletics on May 1st, but it won’t be the first time this school year that the team has put time in playing tennis. Head coach Jamie Busby tells KNIA Sports the team got together earlier in the fall for some offseason training.
“We had a good start in teh fall actually. We had some tennis Tuesdays with some good showings for the first time trying that. Just getting some guys out when the weather is still nice. So that was our first time trying that, and my assistant Nathan Carlin was instrumental in putting that together. We had around 8-10 guys having fun and working on their game, getting some extra work in. I thought that was a really good start to their season, and we were hoping to parlay that into some success this spring.”
The Indians went 8-4 last season, including an upset against Norwalk in their final regular season contest.
