The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board held a public hearing regarding the proposed Prairie Ridge Urban Renewal Plan for a proposed Urban Renewal Area in Marion County. Following the public hearing the board approved the plan. According to Supervisor Mark Raymie the approval is not the issuance of any debt to the county as of now. Raymie says the approval was just on the agreement of the plan to move forward with a potential development agreement at a later date. Raymie says, that is when the county will begin to discuss the issuance of debt and the timing of that issuance. 

The board received and filed the fiscal year 2019 Marion County Audit Report as well as approved a lease agreement with the State of Iowa DHS Case Management Administrative Space located at 104 S Sixth St Knoxville. The board approved a resolution to award a contract to Sta-Bilt Construction Company, Inc. for seal coat and microsurface application on various roads throughout the county for $430,973.18. 

They approved a resolution regarding the permanent closure of 130th Place and bridge East of Hwy 14 as well as approved a resolution adopting new load posting on certain bridges in the county. The board approved a resolution regarding the Marion County Emergency Management credit card authorization and limit as well as approved a Site Plan Review for 901 75th Ave in Pleasantville. 

They approved a resolution regarding Employee Benefit Plans of Marion County effective July 1, 2020 as well as held two closed sessions to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring,performance, or discharge was being considered. Following the closed sessions the board approved the establishment of  Department Head Wage Levels for the individuals evaluated in the closed session.
