A familiar face will be returning to the sidelines for the Pleasantville boys basketball team this winter. After a five-year hiatus, Tom Wilkins is set to return for his third stint as the head coach of the program. Wilkins previously led the Trojans from 2009-2015 and for six years in the early to mid-2000’s.
The move comes after Joel Allman gave up his boys basketball coaching duties to focus on his new role as Activities Director, taking over for retiring Jeff Cook.
In his previous stint at the helm, Wilkins compiled a 95-44 record, and guided the Trojans to some of the most successful seasons in recent history. He inherits a team that went 11-11 overall and 8-8 in the West Central Conference in 2019-2020. He’ll have the luxury of a strong core of returners, with seven juniors, one sophomore and one freshman from the varsity roster. Wilkins’ son Aaron will return for his senior season after missing last season with an injury.
